Love to Learn, Together with the Lord
Teacher: Miss Kay
Teaching Assistant: Miss Yeates
Each week children in Year Three will be given spellings on a Monday to be practised in preparation for a test on the Friday.
The spellings sheet will also show the particular sounds that we are focussing on in our phonics that week.
By the end of Year 3 it is essential that your child has learned their 2, 10, 5, 3, 4 and 8 times tables.
We are practicing these all the time in school and will send them home in preparation for a test on Thursday.
Please test them on these as often as possible. They need to be able to know the facts immediately in any order.
We will change books at least every other day. If your child has read their book and it hasn’t been changed, they can either re-read the book or read a library book or any other book or magazine from home.
Please record this in your orange reading record.
Please see the curriculum newsletter for a more detailed report on what your child is learning this half term.
Please click here for the latest homework sheet. These homework tasks are designed to be fun, inspiring and child directed.
Please work together with your child to complete 3 tasks from the selection on the sheet. The way you present the work is entirely up to you.
At the beginning of each term, your child’s class teacher will send out a new curriculum letter. These letters outline different topics and activities which will be undertaken over the course of the term. The letter might also indicate how you can support your child at home.
