Home Learning

January 2021

On the 4th January Prime Minister announced a new national lockdown would come into force from Wednesday 6th January.

During the period of national lockdown school will remain open to vulnerable pupils and the children of critical workers only. All other children will learn remotely until February half term.

The government have requested that they expect school to set an average of 3 hours home learning daily.

We have therefore put in place a plan for remote learning so that all children can continue with their education. This meets the expectations set out in the DfE guidance ‘Remote Education Support’.

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/remote-education-during-coronavirus-covid-19

If a child does not have access to a computer/laptop and/or the internet, the school will do all it can to support children and will provide paper packs of learning. Where funding can be accessed, remote devices (eg, laptops) will be sought, particularly for disadvantaged children. Parents will be reminded to make the school aware of any barriers to accessing remote learning. Paper copies will be available.

Home Learning for each class will be added to the website class pages, Seesaw and the school Facebook page. The class teacher will upload activities for that day or a series of days. Activities / work should be completed in their Home Learning Book or worksheet then submitted via seesaw by 3.00pm.

Class teachers will contact families regularly to feedback on progress, provide support and ensure your child is engaged in the work.

If you require a 'log on' for Seesaw for any of the learning resources below please contact us in school.
