The School Development Plan for the school year 2019-2020

There are FOUR key priorities

Key Priority One

To improve the teaching and learning of Reading and Writing in school

Key Priority Two

To review the school curriculum to ensure the education provided by the school is at least good

Key Priority Three

To create a whole school framework for emotional well-being and mental health

Key Priority Four

To continue to develop the school’s church distinctiveness programme

Recent School Improvements

  • Setting up and establishing of a Therapy Room. Teachers have been trained to use the room and it is available for children who might require special care
  • The library has been very much improved, not only physically but also in the range and quality of books available for the children to read
  • The creation of a separate office for the Deputy Headteacher. This allows the two senior members of staff space to carry out their sometimes confidential tasks
  • The main school office has been enlarged as it was extremely cramped and it has helped to improve the efficiency of the school office

CORONAVIRUS

The last few weeks have been very difficult time. The Governors would like to record their thanks to the teaching staff, teaching assistants, cleaning staff and kitchen staff for all their hard work over the last few weeks. The staff have been quite magnificent in the way they have approached the whole idea of home school learning, as well as keeping in close contact with parents. Good communications are very important at this time. We would also like to thank parents and children for continuing to support the staff at the school. Hopefully you are all able to keep safe over the next few weeks.
