Love to Learn, Together with the Lord
At All Saints’ we view History not only as simple facts and dates but encourage pupils to become detectives who explore the past in an exciting way. History helps pupils make sense of the world in which they live and develops a sense of their own identity. It plays an essential part in preparing for living and working in the contemporary world. Through studying History, pupils acquire and develop enquiry and chronology skills which can be used within other areas of the curriculum. History helps children to gain an understanding of the past, with relation to themselves, their families, their communities and the wider world. Over the academic year pupils are taken out to visit places of interest, to inspire and motivate them in their studies. The outdoor environment and local area around school are used frequently to embed and increase the subject knowledge and help pupils to understand how their own environment fits in to the history which they study.
