 Reopening letter 22nd June 2020

Monday, 15th June 2020

The Director of Public Health for Lancashire has today revised his guidance about schools reopening to more pupils and we can take the decision to open more widely from 22 June.
In his view, a reduction in the rate of confirmed coronavirus infections combined with readiness to support the local implementation of the national NHS Test and Trace Programme means that enough progress has now been made to revise this advice.
It is important to stress that the prevalence of coronavirus is still higher in Lancashire than elsewhere in the country so the room for manoeuvre is limited.

All Saints' will now follow this advice and plan to reopen to pupils from Nursery, Reception and Year 1. This plan is very much dependant upon how many children will attend. Therefore can I please ask that families of Nursery, Reception and Year 1 children please contact school by 3.15 pm tomorrow if your decision to send your child back to school has now changed. If we do not hear from you by then we will assume your decision remains the same.

We aim to update you by later this week with final arrangements for reopening.
As has been the case throughout the emergency, we are prioritising vulnerable pupils and those children of key workers.
We are truly sorry that we cannot open to more pupils at this stage but we are limited to smaller classes to ensure safety. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.

See you all soon

Update from Lancashire County Council
The Director of Public Health for Lancashire has reviewed all the guidance and has advised that we should continue to delay reopening to Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 pupils. It is still the case that he believes two of the five government tests are not being met in the county.
Although the number of new cases has decreased, Lancashire and the North West has a high number of cases compared to many other regions in the country.
It has also been widely reported that the R value for the North West is above 1.
This advice will be reviewed again next Monday 15th June, and if it changes, we will be looking to prepare to reopen to more pupils after the 22nd June if deemed safe to do so.
Therefore next week school will remain open ONLY for key worker children and those on the vulnerable list.
We are so grateful for the kindness and support of our community during these challenging times and thank you for your continued patience and understanding.
If you need us please ring us in school and we will do all we can to help.
We know you have all tried hard throughout the pandemic in keeping the virus at bay. With various national lock down measures lifting, we need to remain vigilant in following social distancing rules to help prevent the infection spreading.
See you all soon

Recent Update
Lancashire County Council
The decision on when to reopen schools will be reviewed by Lancashire County Council this Monday 8th June for a potential reopening on Mon 15th.
Therefore next week school will remain open ONLY for key worker children and those on the vulnerable list.
At this time we will understandably all have different opinions as to whether we should be open or not and whether you will send your children back when we do re open or not. The most important thing is that we respect each other’s views and choices and remain kind and supportive. It's such a difficult time for everyone with no manual to follow and no right answers, we can only do what we believe to be the best for our children and staff to keep them safe and help do our bit to protect our community.
As a school we have done our best to follow all the guidance and speak to the professionals who have examined the evidence currently available and at the moment, remaining closed for a little longer feels like the right thing to do.
We are so grateful for the kindness and support of our community during these challenging times and thank you for your continued patience and understanding.
Please continue to keep yourselves and your amazing children safe!
See you all soon

Welcome to our school!

All Saints’ CE Primary & Nursery is a Church of England Aided school. Our school is a success story; a joy to visit and a credit to all those involved with us. We are passionate about learning and aim for every child to have a happy and active education in a Christian environment, following the example set for us by Jesus. We provide a stimulating and structured environment in which all children are encouraged to reach their full potential. We treat all our pupils individually, developing their sense of worth, confidence and independence. We want our children to really love learning.

Ofsted visited All Saints’ in December 2016 and judged that our school continues to be good. In February 2017, we had our Anglican Inspection ( SIAMS ) and were delighted to be judged as ‘Outstanding’. Please take the time to read both reports, they are only short but well worth the time!

I am incredibly proud to be Head teacher of All Saints’ CE school, to work alongside such a dedicated team of staff and governors, and have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our wonderful children.
