PHSE including Sex & Relationships Education22 June 2026 (by Joanna Walters (JWalters)) |
NEW CURRICULUM PARENT CONSULTATION
Following a nationwide consultation in 2024, the Department for Education has made changes to relationships and sex education which school must be teaching by the September 2026. All schools must comply with the updated requirements. The new guidance can be found at:
In line with these changes the Jigsaw program we use has been updated to include the statutory RSHE which we would like to use. This means we have had to review our curriculum and policy.
From Monday June 22nd to Friday 10th July we will be consulting with you to help inform our schools’ decisions on when and how certain content is covered, and enable us to reach a general consensus.
We encourage you to read the documents below so you understand the curriculum requirements, then click the link to complete the following survey.

Your views were very important to us and we will let you know the outcome of the process as soon as we can. Please note the consultation does not mean we can change curriculum content as school is legally required to teacher the National Curriculum, however the you do have the right to withdraw from SOME lessons.
Once we have considered all the feedback, the PHSE & RSE Policy and curriculum will be shared on the website.
If you have any queries or concerns regarding the consultation process, please do not hesitate to contact us in school.
